Bala Mohammed To Wike, Bauchi Will Not Be Intimidated

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has fired back at Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, saying Bauchi has "enough water to quench the fire" Wike threatened to unleash on states controlled by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors supporting Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara ¹.

Mohammed, who is also the chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum, made this statement while hosting members of the PDP National Working Committee in Bauchi. He emphasized that Bauchi is united and won't be intimidated, adding that leadership requires seriousness and responsibility, not personal agendas.

The governor described Wike as his friend but stressed that their relationship wouldn't compromise his leadership duties. "What we are doing is not personal; Wike is my friend, a friend is a friend and leadership is leadership, so there is no problem," Mohammed said.

Meanwhile, Wike met with the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) behind closed doors, sparking speculations about efforts to resolve the ongoing crisis within the party, particularly in Rivers State.
