In the 21st century, good relationships are generally marked by emotional and physical fairness, particularly in the distribution of chores necessary to maintain a household. Partners in strong relationships also feel grateful for one another, openly provide and receive affection, and engage in honest discussions about sex. Relationships may also be sexual or non-sexual ones that involve family, friends, or acquaintances.
So, returning to the topic, people are frequently or occasionally hurt in a relationship they find themselves in, especially when they invested more and expected more but got the opposite.
In one way or another, we might have regretted or been hurt in our relationship, which may have kept us emotionally stronger, or we learned a lesson from it, or it helped us deal with and manage things.
